At Phoenix ME we have a strong and well established in-house design department providing a wealth of experience and expertise in design development through all RIBA stages on Design & Build projects.
The design department was introduced in 2021 and was established to enhance our D&B capability and to ensure the design obligations for projects can be fully satisfied. The department was established and is led by Design Directors Rob Wallace and Pawel Tomaszyk who posses a wide range of experience gained whilst working on both the consultancy and contractor side.
We are fully focused on ensuring the MEP design solutions and strategies employed on projects are efficient, sustainable and cost-effective. We operate transparently, flexibly and efficiently to deliver coordinated MEP designs for RIBA Stages 2-5. We take pride in delivering solutions which are robust, buildable and technically compliant.

Our prime objective is to bring added value by de-risking the design and bringing Contractor specific practical experience and specialist expertise early in the design process. On every project we work collaboratively with the client and their design team to develop design packages with particular focus elements of phasing, buildability, spatial fit, compliance and design efficiency.

Our design department consists of a highly skilled team of mechanical and electrical engineers of different grades from Associate to Graduate level who are focused on providing the detail required to successfully deliver MEP designs through the various RIBA Stages.

The design department have worked on wide range of design & build projects across various sectors including commercial, CAT A, CAT B fit-out, mixed-use, retails, public sector and data centre. We have previous experience working with leading general contractors, developers, architects, project manages and MEP consultants.

Thermal modelling - VES IES
We are proficient in thermal modelling which is undertaken in-house and is utilised to confirm heating and cooling loads to inform or validate central plant sizing
Cable calculations - Amtech
We have wealth of experience using Amtech software to confirm cable and switchgear sizing and to develop discrimination studies as part of CDP and design development.
Lighting calculations - DIALux Evo
We have developed an internal capability of undertaking lighting calculations to ensure we are in full control of the desing and quality of the information
