Technical Delivery in One of the UK’s Premier Data Centre Hubs

Phoenix ME was appointed as the General Contractor for CyrusOne’s London V Data Centre project in Slough – a purpose-built, high-spec facility supporting secure and resilient data solutions for cloud providers, systems integrators, and multinational corporations. Strategically located in one of the UK’s most prominent data centre regions, the facility delivers 7,432 sqm (80,000 sq ft) of world-class technical space, with a total IT load capacity of 18 MW. Phoenix ME was responsible for completing the full Stage 4 design through to handover, leading Stage 5 coordination alongside specialist contractors and the in-house design team.

Works included the fit-out of new whitewall spaces, external steel gantries, raised access floors, hot aisle containment, mechanical chillers, CRAH units, AHUs, sprinklers, CHW pipework, generators, modularised switchrooms, MV and LV submains cabling, UPS, lighting and power to data racks, fire detection, alarm and suppression systems, PMS/SCADA monitoring, and full external landscaping.

Smooth Commissioning and Multi-Phase Completion

To ensure seamless commissioning and compliance with the client’s Cx Playbook and ASHRAE protocols, Phoenix ME appointed a third-party Commissioning Partner (CxP) to oversee all MEP commissioning activities from pre-construction planning through to final handover. Regular progress reporting and a well-structured two-week commissioning activity cycle were maintained in collaboration with the owner’s Commissioning Authority (CxA).

This structured approach ensured high-quality delivery in line with both client expectations and technical performance standards. The project was successfully delivered over two phases and stands as a benchmark for excellence in mission-critical infrastructure delivery.
