Supporting HS2 with Active Tunnel Access Installations

Phoenix ME are currently engaged to deliver mechanical and electrical installations across Vent Shaft and Headhouse sites along the HS2 route through North London. These structures are positioned at key intervals to support tunnel safety and functionality—providing essential services such as ventilation, lighting, power, and drainage. The ongoing works require careful coordination and programme alignment, supporting the delivery of vital infrastructure that ensures operational readiness of the HS2 network.

Mechanical and Electrical Scope in Progress

The electrical scope under delivery includes LV distribution, ATS/STS systems, UPS, 11kV commissioning transformers, lightning protection, earthing and bonding, small power, lighting and control systems, CMS containment, and radiating cable installation. Mechanical installations in progress include pumped drainage, domestic hot and cold water systems, sanitaryware, above-ground water mains, tanks and booster sets, and fire mains.

Phoenix ME’s on-site teams continue to work closely with key stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality M&E systems as part of this nationally significant infrastructure project.
