Phoenix ME (PME) have been engaged to provide mechanical and electrical installations across a series of Vent Shafts and Headhouses located along the HS2 route in North London. These strategically positioned structures are critical for delivering power, lighting, ventilation, and essential services into the HS2 tunnels.

PME’s scope includes full integration of both mechanical and electrical systems to support safe and continuous tunnel operations.

Integrated Electrical and Mechanical Systems

The electrical package includes LV distribution, ATS/STS units, UPS, 11kV commissioning transformers, lightning protection, earthing and bonding, small power, lighting and control systems, CMS containment, and radiating cable (installation only).

The mechanical scope covers pumped drainage, domestic hot and cold water, sanitaryware, above-ground water mains, and tanks and booster sets. This comprehensive infrastructure ensures reliability and safety for the tunnel environment, while maintaining efficiency and resilience across all access points.
